Business Case:

Health

The consultancy project comprised analysis of the internal and external environment of a chain of dental offices. It got started on 06/02. The first stage of the project got completed on 08/03.

Signals flashing upon problems which gave tough time to the managing owner of the company at the commencement of the project come articulated as follows:

 1. The owner was given much pressure to bear because of many extra hours, despite of the fact that there were three more dentists supposed to deliver services at the offices along the chain.
 2. Insufficient revenue. Paradoxically, much despite of the numerous extra hours, once he settled the monthly payables, the owner had trouble setting apart funds for the investments he was planning to undertake.

In parallel, the owner is planning to expand his business in at least two functional areas:

 3. Building a dental clinic.
 4. Delivery of services along a health tourism network.

As part of Stage I, within one calendar month following its start-up, the following activities were planned, which were to come on the front burner for the company within the coming three months:

 1. Raising the prices to at least the average price levels for the 4 functional areas of proven company experience, notably: (1) therapy; (2) children’s dentistry; (3) periodontology, and (4) orthopedics.
 2. Producing a ranking list for patients, which is to be updated on a recurrent basis.
 3. Focusing upon B2B customers. Targeting this customer segment.
 4. Focusing upon patients – sportsmen. Penetration into this customer segment.
 5. Advertising and positioning of the company as a chain of dental offices in various settlements.
